“taut, melancholy dream folk, cool and intelligent and self-possessed but it’s great pop too, full of intriguing rhythms and textures” – Louder Than War
Lee Endres is a songwriter from Dudley. Having returned from a recent writing trip in the Bulgarian mountains, he will be showcasing music inspired by the isolation of his time there. The set will also shed light on his first experience of spending three months in Scotland next to the Atlantic Ocean, where he wrote his debut album ‘Croft’. The Scottish Highlands helped provide context to ‘Croft’s’ milieu. From the outset, helped along by the album’s organic and sparse instrumentation, we are introduced to the author’s psychogeography and hear plainly the guilt and fear that are universal in artists obsessed by their art.
