Curlibob presents: Yakul + Alice Auer
Yakul are an exciting neo-soul 4-piece based in Brighton. Influenced by the likes of J-Dilla, D’angelo and the Soulquarians, they put a unique spin on the music they’ve grown up with. Marrying together thoughtful, soulful lyrics with deep grooves and jazz infused progressions, Yakul seamlessly blend genres to create something fresh and original.
“Their D’Angelo style grooves combined with snippets of Frank Ocean-esque melodies are a real treat on the ears” – London In Stereo
“Electric musicianship and innate sense of groove and soul” – The Jazz Cafe
“Norah Jones meets Jordan Rakei” is just one way to describe this young singer-songwriter. Providing a unique mix of jazz and soul music, Alice Auer gives a fresh take to the jazz genre in London’s music scene. Since releasing her debut EP ‘Close To You’ in 2017, Alice has continued to sell-out multiple venues in London including her launch at the well renowned ‘The Troubadour’.
