Mind Dance is back for our 13th edition on Sat 22nd April, with a heavyweight line up for you…

We welcome the one and only Al Wootton to the SJQ booth. Al is one of the titans of the contemporary U.K. bass and dub sound, with an illustrious catalogue of solo work complemented by his heavy, mesmerising Holy Tongue collaboration. As well as his productions and genius live-dubbing exploits, he’s a fearsome DJ, having graced the decks alongside icons like Moritz von Oswald, Shackleton and the rest of the best of the best. We’re honoured and thrilled to have him playing on the 22nd.

Joining him on the decks we have the brilliant Nice Strangers. She’s been stirring vital ingredients into the London music melting pot via her cutting-edge night Sagome since 2020, as well as sharing deep, other-worldly sounds in DJ sets and on NTSand Noods Radio. We can’t wait to see what she’s got packed in her record bag next Sat.

Completing the lineup we have the return of the dub maestro Elijah Minnelli, who brings his swamping, hypnotising dub-cumbia live set back the SJQ basement. We were blessed to have him perform at our third Mind Dance last year, and are looking forward to him blowing us away again.

This date will also see a ‘debut’ of sorts for our new resident Zenon who’s graced the stage and the booth at 2 previous Mind Dances, and is now part of the team full-time. Also, as luck would have it, the 22nd is his birthday, so Celestial Grub and Abraham Parker will have to be content with the early warm up slots…

As always our proceeds all go direct to Mind and you can donate to them direct via the fundraiser in this post or link in our bio, cutting out the middle man charge, or tap a card or fling us a fiver at the door. We’re expecting it to be a busy one so get down early to avoid disappointment.

Like many in the U.K. we were rocked by the recent loss of Jah Shaka, but hope we can pay our own tribute of sorts to one of reggae and dub musics greatest figures, with this heavily dub-based line up.
