10A Sessions with Petit Oiseau & Simone Salvatici
Indian Classical player Jatinder Singh Durhailay’s graceful mastery of the three hundred year old dilruba breaks new ground in contemporary music with the aid of Suren Seneviratne’s ambient synthesiser etudes performed on the EMU XL-7 workstation. Custom sound-patches dance in curious rhythms alongside Singh’s deeply evocative sitar-like wails that hark back to the North India of centuries ago.Simone Salvatici (former of Clorinde and Polbrone) is an Italian, London-based, multi-instrumentalist, composer and sound therapist, influential within drone and ambient music.
For over a decade, Simone aka Salvaticus Selvatico has explored resonance and interaction between holistic, intuitive and sacred instruments, such as Gongs, in combination with Synthesisers, processed sound, and controlled feedback. In his immersive sound journey experience, gongs are driven by synthesisers’ drones to take the listener on a journey in and out of deeper layers of consciousness with gentle ebb and flow, rise and fall, and crescendo and plateau that melts away into a mind state where neither time, space nor the self are of concern—a mental, physical and spiritual refuge in which we are gifted the experience of peace and contemplation.
